Up to five nights per week – Our home field is Shadowbrook North.

Co Coaches Philosophy / Objectives: Focus on effort and attitude. Winning is not the #1 priority. Stress importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. Improve baseball IQ. Have fun and help kids develop a love for the game. Help develop skills necessary to be successful at this level and future seasons. Provide a safe and healthy environment. Regular season approach differs from tournaments.

Pl Playing Time and Positions: Kids deserve an opportunity to learn and play multiple positions. One IF and OF. P and/or C. Playing time will be adjusted based on effort, attitude, attendance and game situation. Positions may be adjusted throughout the season. Balance setting them up for success and taking on challenges.

Pl Player Expectations: Good attitude, give best effort, stay focused, be coachable and be on time. Be respectful and demonstrate good sportsmanship. Work on your skills outside practice. Challenge yourself and each other to improve. Understand the ‘why’. Accept failure as part of the game and learn to let go.

Parent Expectations: Keep things in perspective. Get your son to practice and games on time. Encourage and demonstrate good sportsmanship. Lead by example and avoid giving instruction. Teach your son how to handle adversity and be supportive. Contact me with any questions or concerns. Check and team page (NGIN app) for latest information.

Additional Notes: Kids shared what they like most about baseball: – Playing with friends, batting, fielding, eating sunflower seeds, etc… – Did winning come up? Navigating all the information available – MYAS, ABA and team calendar. Action Items: Scorebook duties – Barb? Field Prep for home games – volunteers? Code of Conduct Use a calendar tool/app. Sign up for the ABA mailing list. Brainerd hotel registration. Training/Facilities payment.
