2. Manager’s Responsibilities – Pre-Season
Attending mandatory clinics and meetings
Attend as many general meetings as possible
Attending evaluations (if applicable)
Drafting team
Selecting good assistant coaches
Ensure they attend mandatory coaches clinics
Know the rules and make sure your assistants know the rules:
League rules
Pitching Rules
Substitution Rules
Assigning a Concession Stand Parent for your team
Collecting and turning in background checks
Run effective practices

3. Manager’s Responsibilities – Season
Attend as many general meetings as possible
Be present:
Majority of games
Playoffs
Pre-game
Ensure concession stand is open for every game you are assigned
Prep the field before games if you are the home team
Ensure your team is at the field and warming up before games
Game Management
Set the line up
Set your fielding rotations
Watch your pitch counts
Control your coaches and parents – Sportsmanship, Sportsmanship, Sportsmanship….
Clean up field, dugouts, garbage cans after every game – don’t just assume the other guy is going to do it

4. Manager’s Responsibilities – Post-Season
Return your equipment:
Cleanout equipment bags before returning them
Turn your equipment in ON TIME
Attend the September Board of Directors Election and vote for the next board

5. Manager’s Responsibilities – Communication
YOU ARE THE FACE OF MOON BASEBALL
One of the most important jobs of a manager
Let the parents know:
You are their manager as soon after the draft as possible
What you expect from them and their child
What you will focus on as a manager and how to contact you
When practices will start and their schedule
When games start and their schedule
Let them know when events are cancelled or changed
Keep them up to date on events going on in the organization
After the season tell them how the players have progressed
Encourage them to continue playing – Starting with Fall Ball
Be respectful – if a parent starts to harass you or does something that goes against the code of conduct then escalate to your league commissioner (DON’T TAKE MATTERS INTO YOUR OWN HANDS)
