General Education This setting is where students are challenged and instruction is given in age appropriate development.

This is the education of children at home, typically by parents and sometimes by tutors. Home School Home School

Online education, also known as distance learning or e-learning, differs from traditional education because students are not required to visit an actual classroom and listen to an instructor face-to- face. Online Education

Hospital based education is when instruction is given to students inside a hospital because of medical causes that may not allow student to attend a school building setting. Hospital Based Education Hospital Based Education

This is a program and services for children with developmental delays. In order to qualify for this program you have to display any type of developmental delay in any area and range from birth to age three. Early Intervention

S.E.I.T is and acronym for Special Education Itinerant Teacher. S.E.I.T services provide help to children from a special education teacher in a natural setting, such as a nursery school, summer camp or the child's home. Some consider this to be a special instruction teacher. S.E.I.T

Mainstreamed means students are in a regular education classroom for part of the school day, for example, spending English class in the regular education classroom but spending the math class in the special education classroom. Mainstream

In an inclusion class, or mainstream placement, your child will be in a regular education class with his age peers. In addition to the regular teacher, there will ideally be a special- education teacher whose job it is to adjust the curriculum to your child's abilities. Integrated

Juvenile detention education is when instruction is given to students inside jail/ juvenile detention because of juvenile delinquency they caused which may not allow student to attend a school building setting. Juvenile Detention

Self-contained classrooms are typically smaller settings with a fewer number of students. Created to help foster enhanced support for students with special needs or specific difficulties, self-contained rooms are generally comprised of about ten students with unique struggles who are most commonly instructed by a lead teacher with a certification in special education.
