3. Traditional Classroom
Students matched by age, and also by ability. All students in a classroom are taught the same material.

4. Inclusion Classroom
Inclusion classroom is comprised of regular education, as well as, special education students. Often times lessons are co-taught with a special education teacher and the regular education teacher.

5. Self-Contained Classroom
Is comprised of all special education students. These students are low level learners that need the individual instruction in order to reach their academic goals.

6. Resource Room
Resource room can be looked at as “extra help” for special education students. This class is most often taught by a special education teacher that provides help to students who maybe be struggling in certain subjects.

7. One-to-one
One to one is used for students who are extremely low functioning. These students need the one on one attention and instruction in order succeed with in the classroom.

8. Therapeutic support
Is used for students who often have emotional and social problems. These students more often then not are higher level learners that need a learning environment that can deal with their emotional needs.

9. Collective Teaching
Collective teaching is often used within an inclusion classroom. It is taught by a regular education and special education teacher. The reason for this is because the class is made up of both special education and regular education students.

10. ELL Program
This program is designed for English Language Learners. It is designed to help students continue to progress with their English. It is also used to help students within their classes where the language barrier is interfering with their learning.

11. B.O.C.E.S.
Is a learning environment in which students learn a trade. This is a hands on program in which students learn these trades first hand.

12. Juvenile Detention
Is the most restrictive of all learning environments. Most often these classes are taught at juvenile detention centers in which the classrooms are made up of students with behavior problems.
