DIGITAL LITERACY NARRATIVE

The first time that I touched a computer is the most memorable day in my life. I was 12y and my sister was 13y by that time. Her name is Sara, and she is the closest person to me in my family. We had always seen computers with our older brother, with our friends and on television, but never physically touched one. my father had been clear-cut that when we get a good grade, he was going to provide my sister and I with one form of technology for each, because We had always told him how we longed to touch a computer and we thought he would buy me a smart phone because I knew how to operate one. My sister had also been promised the same thing, and so we strived to do our best so that we could get a computers.

I ensured that I spent considerable time on the computer learning different things, and by the time I reached my 13 year, I had learned so many things in the computer for example, 1- I could now write clearly. 2- play games. 3- watch a lot of movies. 4- listen to music. 5- read a lot of books online. 6- learned different styles of narrative that helped me to perfect my writing skills.

My dad assisted me to open an account where I could write to my friends. This helped us to stay connected which also changed my life, and getting a computer made me learn that a computer is a very essential machine that has so many uses, and I find myself relying on the computer for most of my work. the digital literacy is(the ability to use technology to navigate and create information). If people have this kind of ability, they have priority in society. Technology is useful and should be embraced by all. In my opinion, being literate affects my life positively since it opens an opportunity to communicate with more educated people and express my thoughts in a clear and concise manner. I think that nobody will success without being literate in computer. Because really it’s important to have computer skills for example, today jobs market and business whatever you have to be literate in computer.

A good DLN includes: 1-Good Grammar: sentence structures and the grammatical errors would be monitored. 2-The information should flow logically, which is the way that you presented your ideas on it. And all the points are making sense. 3-Ability to communicate to the audience for example, by getting their attention. Everything should be clear to the audience nothing confusing them. 4-Plagiarism: the content should not have been copied from anywhere 5-Format or genre convention, which the style that I used. And use more than one mode of the five modes of communication.
