PERTON MIDDLE SCHOOL ASSESSMENT EVENING 02/12/15

Assessment is the process of judging or measuring knowledge, skills and understanding. To provide information to parents on students’ acquisition of knowledge, skills and understanding during lessons (daily); units of work (half termly) and at key transition points (yearly or at the end of a key stage). OBJECTIVE

The education system lost sight of the need for a genuine conversation between parents and schools: to help parents support their children on this part of reading, or that part of maths; not focus on a blanket judgment that ‘your child is level 3, and that’s fine for a child of their age.’ What the Government said School reform minister Nick Gibb February 2015
