What are television/home video considerations? Home video has become extremely popular due to HDTV and home theater systems. Components of a typical home theater setup: – HDTV – rectangular, flat screen, movie theater quality picture (720p, 1080i, 1080p). – DVD (Digital Video Disc)/Blu-Ray Player – Blu-Ray is high definition (1080p) version of DVD (480p). – Streaming – content streamed directly from the internet (NetFlix) – Surround sound system – consists of receiver plus speakers to create sound similar to a movie theater.
