2 Tonight’s Agenda Design, construction & systems status Commuter Rail Vehicles East Rail Line Update East Rail Line Open House Gold/NW Update Westminster Station Parking Garage Safety Outreach Program Questions Test trains continue to move in and out of the Denver Airport Station as part of the year-long testing program RTD is overseeing.

3 Design, Construction & Systems Design & Construction Civil design work is nearing completion Safety certification of the designs is progressing well Construction is 83 percent complete and on schedule for revenue service in 2016 Systems Energization from Union Station to Denver International Airport is complete; CRMF also energized Nearly all of the power poles along the Gold Line are installed; wiring installation to start in coming weeks The elevator shaft and pedestrian bridge are fully installed at the 41 st /Fox Station that will serve the G Line.

4 Commuter Rail Vehicles 36 commuter rail vehicles are in Denver 8 are out on alignment for testing There are enough vehicles currently in Denver for revenue service The last six of the total 66 will arrive by the first quarter of 2016 Commuter rail cars are being delivered four at a time from Philadelphia and are undergoing static testing at the CRMF.

5 East Rail Line Update Initial joint testing at the at-grade crossing is complete Trains are on a stop-and-proceed order during their testing through the crossings until all crossings are commissioned Station and Park- n-Ride construction ongoing Crossing testing at Smith Road and Monaco Street. Train operators are currently being recruited by Denver Transit Operators; first hires are undergoing classroom training and three are operating test trains

6 East Rail Line Open House Saturday, Sept a.m. to 1 p.m. Central Park Station Park-n-Ride Ribbon cutting to take place during open house to commemorate the first phase opening of the parking lot and bus transfer station (moving from the existing Stapleton Park-n-Ride) that is being built by RTD Attendees will learn about station design, the commuter rail trains and how to safely use this new system Food and refreshments will be provided by DTP

7 Gold Line/NW Rail Crossing and roadway construction continues along the Gold Line BNSF track relocation is now complete 64th Avenue bridge construction started on the Northwest Rail corridor and is scheduled to be complete by the end of this year Westminster Station pedestrian underpass is complete and station platform work continues Olde Town Arvada Station and plaza construction

8 Westminster Station Parking Garage The City of Westminster hosted a ground breaking for the parking garage at the Westminster Station The City is paying for the 600-space structure that RTD passengers can use Transit-oriented development and a regional park is slated to open in the area when the B Line opens to Westminster in summer 2016 Henry Stopplecamp, Dave Genova, Director Lorraine Anderson and Director Larry Hoy attend the City of Westminster’s ground breaking of the parking garage.

9 Safety Outreach Program Safety outreach has picked back up for the East Rail Line schools and Operation Lifesaver - RTD safety training lesson plans will be presented to schools Outreach to the Gold Line and Northwest Rail Westminster schools is underway; posters and handouts to be distributed in the coming weeks ADA community has requested familiarity safety training at at- grade crossings, platforms and on trains; RTD is working with DTP to schedule those First responders undergoing DTP safety training at CRMF; a drill is scheduled for spring A young child learns how to safely cross an at-grade crossing by using RTD’s mock crossing, available for events as an interactive teaching tool
