How the technology works: They use similar technology in cricket and tennis. Sensors in the ball detect cables under the goal line.

Look at the issue through different lenses: Cultural lens Social lens Ethical lens Decide which arguments are most important, and come to a decision.

Argument 2: The technology costs half a million pounds. Many football clubs can’t afford it. Argument 4:. Everybody has the right to an accurate decision. Argument 6: Football is about teamwork not technology. Argument 14: Players will lose respect for officials if technology takes the decisions. Argument 9: Technology will make the game fairer by eliminating errors. Argument 11: Humans make errors. We just have to accept that. Argument 13: We could employ officials to monitor the goal line. It would cost less than the new technology. Argument 5: If a poor decision makes a team lose, it cuts their club’s earnings. Argument 1: It would be no fun if there was nothing to argue about after the match. Argument 3: Clubs earn a fortune when they sell players. They can afford the technology. Argument 12: Using technology could slow the pace of the game and make it less exciting. Argument 7: If matches are seen to be fair, fans won’t get into fights so often. Argument 10: Younger fans expect to see technology being used. SSX METAHUMAN: GOAL-LINE TECHNOLOGY SS 1 Argument 15: The technology would help referees by giving them more authority.
