Provide key updates and information Opportunity to share ideas and network Aims

Online Provider Portal Launched in January 2016 Interim headcount - was very successful, payments were processed 2 days early. Final headcount – still underway, so far there have been no major issues. Census Form 2016 – Deadline was Friday 5 th February % of providers submitted on-time. Child level data will be pulled from the final headcount – please remember to tick ‘Present during Census’ on each child record for those children attending your setting during headcount week.

Online Parent Portal Launched on 18 th January 2016 Parents and carers wishing to apply for 2 Year Old Free Early Education for their child must apply online at Blackburn with Darwen's Parent Portal to check their eligibility. The application will be processed and their eligibility for the funded place will be checked. If their child is eligible the parent/carer will receive a letter from us telling them that funding for their child has been approved and the date the funding can commence. You must see the approval letter before a child starts their 2 year old free early education place otherwise this may result in a loss of funding at headcount.

Wraparound and holiday childcare Parents and childcare provider ‘rights to request’ Government consultation - Don’t forget to submit your response The Government is proposing that parents should have the ‘right to request’ that their child’s school should consider establishing wraparound and / or holiday childcare, and that childcare providers should have the ‘right to request’ the use of school facilities for such childcare at times when the school is not using them. They’re seeking views on the draft departmental advice about how schools should respond to requests regarding wraparound and holiday childcare Consultation closing date: 29 February holiday-childcare
