Due to the TX power limitation, transmission distance is basically short. Then LOS is a practical situation when we use the millimeter-wave band. As a result, most of practical use cases including file transfer, video streaming, mobile gaming, wireless ad-hoc meeting and gigabit Ethernet can be covered by this usage model.

doc.: IEEE /291r2 Submission July 2006 NiCT, NTTSlide 11 Conclusion Usage model for short-range LOS applications is proposed. These applications include file transfer, video streaming, mobile gaming, wireless ad-hoc meeting and gigabit Ethernet. We should notice that transmission distance is basically short due to the TX power limitation. We also proposed two additional usage models including application-mix parameters for wireless ad-hoc meeting and gigabit Ethernet to consider MAC attributes.
