Overview In this tutorial you will: learn what Moodle is understand how to navigate through your course identify communication features in Moodle.

What is Moodle? Moodle is a learning management system (LMS). It is a website that helps you work through your online course, and it helps connect you with your teacher and other students. Your teacher will give you the web address and logon details for your Moodle online course. Online tools in a Moodle course

What can I do in Moodle? Moodle can be used in lots of different ways, depending on the needs of the group using it. Some typical tasks are: work though learning materials such as readings, slideshows, audio or video presentations, quizzes, etc create a blog to introduce yourself to your class contribute to a class wiki subscribe to your teacher’s podcast read weekly announcements from your teacher submit assessment tasks participate in an online forum or a live chat. Moodle home screen Check the calendar for events and assignment dates Select a course or unit of work Login Your Moodle home screen will depend on how your teacher sets it up, but here’s a typical example:

Navigating (1) Click a menu item to go to a topic or activity Check for upcoming events Read announcements from your teacher After you choose your course or study group you will see a course outline:
