Basic Information - Bordering countries: Chile to the west, Paraguay to the North, Uruguay to the East, and the Southern Atlantic Ocean to the South. -Geography: Second largest. Plain and fertile pampas, great for Agriculture and Stocks. -$1,511-$1,645 to travel from the U.S to Buenos Aires, Argentina. -Government: Republican -Total area: 1,073,512 square miles. - Fact: Very diverse and unique culture. Demographics: -Population is a total 42,610,891 people. -Of those people the Ethnicities range from: -97% European -3% Mestizo, Ameridian, or other Non-White groups. -Languages spoken there are Spanish(Official), English, German, French, and Italian. -Currency: Argentine Peso -Converts to 0.11 USD (U.S Dollars) -Capital: Buenos Aires million people live in the capital. -Great place to visit: Plaza de Mayo, a city square named after the 1810 revolution, leading up to Argentina’s Independence.

Economy: -GDP is $14,715. -Main resources are Meatpacking, Agriculture, Chief Manufacturing (Motor Industry). -Main Agriculture is Wheat, Soybean, and Maize (Corn). -Unemployment rate has gone up a bit, making it land at a 7.5% rate. -Population below the poverty line is 30% of the population, fluctuating up and down over the years. Tourist Destinations: La Bombonera: -A large Soccer field, with stands that can hold up to 40,318 people. Earned the name, La Bombonera because of its structure. -This structure was built and opened in the 1940’s and remains the most favorite Soccer field in Argentina. Perito Moreno Glacier: -The largest Glacier in South America, this nature made structure has an area of Mi. squared. -It is, and still remains, the largest, and most important, tourist site in Argentina. -It is so large, that the company who runs it has incorporated Tennis courts in the water pool that has been built up in it! Holidays and Festivals: Carnival: -This is a festival that happens about a month before Easter, it is a celebration that is celebrated in many different ways. -The people of Argentina line up the streets as floats pass by. They chant out and sings songs called Chamamè. Dìa de la Bandera Nacional (National Flag Day) -The people of Argentina Gather in the streets with a giant flag of their state. They stretch it out while chanting their National Anthem. -They do this all day while singing songs of their state. Citizens watching the Carnival floats. Gather in the streets and stretch out their flag proudly.

Typical foods: Empanadas: -Empanadas are a traditional food that has been eaten for many generations. -It is eaten today still across the country and the entire nation of South America. -Empanadas are pastries filled with different combinations of beef and vegetables that are cooked and put inside. Asado: -Asado is another popular food that is eaten at parties. -It is grilled Vegetables and Beef served with whatever side and mainly has beef, but also includes the meat of other animals as well. Dances and Music: The main dance is the Argentine Tango. It is a very sensual dance with music that involves Violins, and other string instruments like Guitars. The dance has steps that are slightly complex to follow, but it’s still fun to do. The dance involves multiple foot movements along with body movements like a bit of wiggle movement and some independent dancing as well. This is dance is very well known throughout the entire country and will most likely remain that way for many generations.
