Question: What minerals in Aromatherapy products (Stress relief, Sleep and Energy) have the effect on us? And do they really work.

Aromatherapy is the use of aromatic plant extracts and essential oils in massage or baths. Some of the major types of Aromatherapy are Sleep, Stress relief, Energy and Sensual. When we feel stressed, a lack of energy or sleep some of us tend to use Aromatherapy. What is Aromatherapy?

Sleep/Stress Relief/ Energy Sleep- Linden flowers, cypress lavender, chamomile, sandalwood, ylang ylang and peppermint. Stress Relief- Rose, vanilla, orange blossom, jasmine, chamomile, frankincense and lavender. Energy- Lemon, orange, eucalyptus, grapefruit, cinnamon, mint, ginger, rosemary, basil and peppermint.

Chamomile A major ingredient in Sleep products is Chamomile. This can be used as a traditional medicine to calm anxiety. It’s considered as a safe plant and mild sedative. When released, Glycine inside is also released which is a chemical that helps calm nerves. Chamomile has been proven to fight Insomnia. When tested on animals, it’s been proven to be safe and act as a mild sleep aid.

Lavender A major ingredient in Stress Relief products is Lavender. Lavender is a small evergreen shrub. Lavender is used for anyone who is adrenally fatigued or suffering from chronic stress. It’s proven to help with a more stable mood and concentration. It also helps someone feel less anxious.

Ginger A major ingredient in Energy products is Ginger. Ginger is a hot fragrant spice made from rhizome of the plant. It’s very good for your heart and circulation. It prevents cancer and is a very powerful anti-inflammatory. These components keep your arteries from swelling which results in a clear blood flow. It prevents platelets from building up in your arteries and stimulates the release of Adrenaline, which strengthens your heart and gives you energy.

Types of Products Essential Oils: Lavender Oil, Chamomile Oil and Ginger Oil. Ginger shots: These shots of caffeine are very strong and get the blood flow moving.

Doses/Oils With a few drops of Lavender, Chamomile or Ginger oil, rubbed onto your temples or inhaling the smell of the oil deeply can have a great impact. Some people have diffusers for their oils which release the scent.

Do these products actually work? These products do work but unless you consistently have a diffuser going or keep using these products it’s hard for it to truly work. You should be using safe amounts of these products and not inhaling too much of the smell or else it can be harmful to the body. It’s more of a mind over matter type of issue too. Your attitude after you use it sets the atmosphere.
