NAME AND FAMILY Publius Cornelius Scipio Africanus. His brother was Gnaeus Father-in-law- Was Lucius Aemilius Paullus Father was Titus Sempronius Longus

IMPORTANT MOMENTS IN HIS LIFE. 218 B.C.- Fought under his father at Ticinus. 216 B.C.- Survived the battle of Cannae. 211 B.C.- Elected to proconsulship in Spain, upon the death of his father and uncle. 209 B.C.- Conquered New Carthage—established reputation as a great general 205 B.C.- Elected consul. Tried to go to Africa, but prevented by enemies in Rome 204 B.C.- Went to Africa, and allied with Numidians against Carthage. 202 B.C.- Hannibal returned to Africa to fight Scipio at the battle of Zama. 183 B.C.- Retired to the country outside Rome.
