The world upside down

World turned upside down Never before have children faced so many devastating wars and disasters. When an emergency hits, worlds are turned upside down, and children need protection. Protection from dangers like hunger and disease, but also from threats like violence, exploitation and abuse.

World turned upside down That’s exactly what this new hard hitting film from UNICEF is about. Set in the UK, it shows a British family having a normal day out at the park. The parents sit watching their children play, dangling upside down from a climbing frame and doing headstands. But each time one of the two children spins upside down, their world turns upside down with them, and we see a glimpse of the very different life they could be living in a country affected by war or natural disaster. Watch this short film and then carry out the collaborative learning activity.
