Properties of Acids Taste Sour Conducts electricity. Strong acids are strong electrolytes. Weak acids are weak electrolytes. React with metals to form hydrogen gas. Changes the colors of indicators (litmus paper indicator turns red). Reacts with hydroxides to form water and a salt.
