Redevelopment Areas: Redevelopment Area #1 Downtown Carson City Formed in 1986 Amended to include Costco and the Carson Mall. Redevelopment Area #2 South Carson Street plus the former KMart Formed in 2004 Amended to expand to a full commercial redevelopment area. Carson City Redevelopment Authority

Redevelopment Plan Objectives: Strengthen the economy. Expand the City’s tax base. Develop a consistent theme centered around history and Carson City’s role as the Capital. Approve the appearance of commercial areas. Encourage more landscaping Promote preservation of historic structures. Promote recreational activities. Promote development of housing. Promote greater cooperation with the State and School District. Downtown Carson City

Redevelopment Plan Objectives: Enhance land use patterns that create diversity of activities. Develop physical linkages between the Roundhouse, Downtown and the Railway Museum. Improve circulation for cars, bicycles and pedestrians. Improve public infrastructure. Must meet the objectives of the Redevelopment Plan Repayment may be required if certain requirements are not met.

Development Objectives Analysis The applicant provides reasons the project assists the RDA in meeting the objectives listed. This information provides a “screening” tool for considering applications. Economic Objectives A list of economic objectives for the Area are listed. These can change from year to year, or from application cycle to application cycle. Economic Impact Information The applicant provides the economics of the project, ie, taxes generated, jobs created, capital investment. Partnership Program Requested The applicant provides the amount of the incentive or loan requested and Under which program the request is being made. Economic Objectives Analysis The applicant provides reasons the project meets the objectives listed. This information provides an additional “screening” tool for considering applications. Business Information The applicant provides information related to his/her business. This could be a summary of the business plan..
