Service Learning By: Michael Lindberg

How it All Started Community service started for me in high school. Community service started for me in high school. Ever since ninth grade I have been required to do community service. Ever since ninth grade I have been required to do community service.

Importance of Service learning I think service learning important because you get to go out with friends have a good time and help someone aside from yourself. What I Did Last semester I did some yard work for my old neighborhood (funny reason why). Last semester I did some yard work for my old neighborhood (funny reason why). This semester I did some more work in my old neighborhood again. This semester I did some more work in my old neighborhood again. Did the Carwash with the FYE class. Why My Neighborhood? I chose to do work for my old neighborhood mainly because of the fact that I used to live there and took a lot from it. My Yard Work Well I last semester my friends asked me to do work with them because they had to do community service for other reasons. We weed whacked, planted a few trees, did some pruning of the shrubs around the clubhouse, and picked up the trash. Neighborhood Again! This semester I helped set up for a party. This semester I helped set up for a party. Also stayed and served food and drinks and watched the little kids on the playground and sandbox. They are tricky little kids there. Carwash So yeah I went to the FYE carwash. Really fun stuff in my opinion. So yeah I went to the FYE carwash. Really fun stuff in my opinion. First they had me washing cars but I guess I wasn’t doing good enough, so they made me go hold signs. I ended up running across the street to the ice cream place and telling all those people about it (just in case they missed the signs and the yelling). More Carwash stuff The carwash was for Relay For Life which was cool. The carwash was for Relay For Life which was cool. When I ran across the street it was really just because I wanted a milkshake. Advertising was really just and after thought…I’m pretty sure some of the people went to the carwash after my advertising, or that is what I tell myself to make me feel better. Relay For Life One person can make a difference. Would I do it again? Well after doing community service since ninth grade I cant really see myself going a year with out doing it.
