Presentation skills How to prepare for going to university 1 How have you prepared for university ? Discuss the following topics one by one with your partner. Is there anything else you can add to the list ? choosing a university course visiting prospective universities improving study skills improving time management making new friends managing money living away from home getting involved in college life

Presentation skills 2 Work in pairs and plan a presentation called “How to prepare for going to university”. Use the questions and the ideas from Activity 1 to help you. What’s the best way you prepare academically before going to study at university ? How is the social side of university life different from school life ? How do you prepare for the “culture shock” of going to university ? What challenges do students face when starting university ? How can you overcome these challenges ?

Presentation skills 3 Work individually and plan your presentation. Decide what your main ideas will be. Decide how you will support them. Decide who will present each section. Practice your presentation together. Follow-up : Work in groups of four and tell your group members how you planned. Seek advice for improvement.
