 MAY carrots, chard, onions, arugula, fresh peas, radishes, spinach, zucchini, strawberries, green beans, apricots. JUNE the last strawberries, cherries, apricots, early figs, medlars, melons, green beans, zucchini, cucumbers, many varieties of lettuce, tomatoes. What are the products of the season?

 JULY eggplant, peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, hot peppers, peaches, plums, melons, watermelons, cherries.  Because you can eat a type of food that has reached its ripeness in the most natural possible way, with no need of chemical or special treatment. Why is it better to buy seasonal produce?

  Saving energy  Saving economy What are the benefits of eating what season offers ?

 Absolutely yes! They have more active and nutritional properties compared to fruit that is out of season: the fruit and vegetables in season may be even eat with their peel! And the taste is better, there are more vitamins and less water. Are products in season more nourishing?

 Very few, ranging from simply having to give up our favorite food when it is out of season, and having to be satisfied with what we like maybe less in some periods of the year. What are the disadvantages?

 The Internet is full of information, in terms of calendars, schedules and guides, which allow the consumer to figure out which fruits and vegetables to choose depending on the season. How do I know which fruit and vegetables are in season?

 It is true for biological products but also for those in need of amount of non-organic chemicals child with respect to plants that are “required” to grow in different periods of their season. Think how much more are weak and the parasites assaulted. Is it true that products in season do not have pesticides?

 The answer is very simple: in most of smaller specialty shops, maybe present in your neighbourhood, but also and especially in markets and supermarkets. Good sellers should declare the origin of the food they sell. Where can I buy fruit and vegetables in season?
