 About SMPP  SMPP (Short Message Peer to Peer Protocol) is a telecommunications protocol which lets applications send/receive SMS through interaction with an SMSC (Short Message Service Centre).  Whilst there are numerous other protocols which have the same intent, SMPP has the greatest market share and is widely regarded as an industry de-facto standard.  Using SMPP  Similar to our SMS API, SMPP Interface facilitates programmatic interaction with our messaging platform. However, it is not as 'everyday' as HTTP/SMTP and requires the technical capacity to support it.  Cost of SMPP  Unlike other submission methods, the use of our SMPP Interface requires a monthly volume commitment or a service charge that is in addition to the cost of messaging. 18
