International Labour Standards Four packages of standards deserve particular attention: – the core labour standards with a focus on freedom of association and collective bargaining targeting in particular those large countries having not yet ratified these two conventions – the governance standards (C. 122 on employment policy, C. 144 on tripartite consultations, C. 81 and C. 129 on labour inspection), – the gender standards (C. 183 on maternity protection, C. 156 on workers with family responsibilities) as well as C. 175 on part-time work and C. 177 on home work – the package of standards relevant in the context of the crisis 3

Employment The promotion of full and decent employment Macroeconomic policies that promote employment and growth of aggregate demand (jobs and income-led recovery) National employment policy formulation in accordance with Convention 122 A worker agenda in the area of sustainable enterprises development Promoting public enterprises as well as social economy enterprises and cooperatives promotion of green jobs 4

Global Social Architecture Policy coherence and building a new economic and social model for global governance Analysis of the employment and decent work implications of their policies and the conditionalities Trade and industrial policies (impact of the WTO negotiations, trade liberalization through bilateral agreements) Addressing inequalities within regional and within countries 5

Multinational Enterprises The globalization of industrial relations as a response to the internationalization of company operations 6

Wages and working conditions Analysis of policies that increase wages and maintain purchasing power including through coordinated collective bargaining and minimum living wages. Wages as the core agenda to promote decent work and poverty reduction. 7

Social Security Protection of working women and men and their families through comprehensive social security benefits (Convention No. 102) Promotion of a basic social protection floor Trade unions against the concept of flexisecurity 8

Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining Analysis of trends in collective bargaining and identify an agenda for the promotion of collective bargaining Focus on export processing zones 9
