Nation vs. Country In order for us to understand more about nationalism we must first explore the difference between the terms “nation” and “country”. In order for us to understand more about nationalism we must first explore the difference between the terms “nation” and “country”. A country is a place with distinct physical territories and government. Another name for country is “Nation-state”. A country is a place with distinct physical territories and government. It is important to understand that nations may exist with-out distinct physical territories and government. Eg. Flames nation ( collection of people sharing the same ideas towards their hockey team.)
