Birdhouses In 2 Point Perspective

How does a perspective drawing change when it has more than one vanishing point? What does a two point perspective drawing look like? Now: How do the elements of perspective drawing differ when used with two vanishing points?

Vocabulary Horizon Line (or Eye-Level) This is a line that divides your paper into two sections: the earth and the sky. This is the first line we locate when making a perspective drawing. There can only be one eye-level line in order for the most realistic results. Anything below the horizon line- You will only be able to see the top of an object. Anything above the horizon line- You will only be able to see the bottom of an object. Horizon Line

Vocabulary Vanishing Points In Two Point Perspective, there are 2 vanishing points that show how an object moves back in space in two directions. Vanishing Point Vanishing Point

Vocabulary Horizontal and Vertical Lines Receding Lines These lines recede back to the vanishing points Lines that go up and down There are no true horizontal lines in 2 point perspective Receding Lines

If we can draw boxes in 2 point perspective…

…we can draw anything in 2 point perspective

2 Point Perspective Drawing Use correct 2 Point Perspective Horizon Line Two vanishing points Vertical lines for the CORNERS of objects All other lines go to one of the vanishing points Create an image of at least 5 birdhouses that shows depth Add details to your houses 3 Days, 60 points
