Sarcoma Associated with loss of p53 and RB tumor suppressor genes Associated with Familial syndrome called Li- Fraumeni syndrome (loss of p53) Associated with radiation exposure

Sarcomas Localized pain & swelling is the hallmark of bone sarcomas Work-up includes bone biopsy, bone scans, CT scans Treatment – Resection +/- radiation…+/---chemo pending mets Preoperative chemotherapy for osteosarcomas is standard GI stromal tumors treated with c-kit inhibitors
