Strengthening of Internationalisation in B&H Higher Education

1. Mobility:  Recognition (full implementation of the Diploma Supplement that will be recognized in the wider environment, ECTS)  Full implementation of the NQF in practice to provide the mobility of teachers and students based on the quality of studies in the country Strengthening of Internationalisation in B&H Higher Education

1.1. Establishing a Fund/Foundation for mobility of students and teaching staff  Low outbound mobility level – locally, regionally and internationally ;  Cause: insufficient financial incentives to institutions able to increase the quality and quantity of international cooperation;  30 bilateral and multilateral agreements, programs, memoranda, protocols and other documents on cooperation in the field of higher education, science and research activities for the exchange of students, teachers and researchers implying the financial, technical and other obligations in the field education,  Promotion and support to mobility will take place in close cooperation with higher education institutions;  Develop a set of criteria for the support and promotion of mobility; Strengthening of Internationalisation in B&H Higher Education

2. Internationalization of higher education in the Federation of BiH expand a cooperation in the region and mutual recognition of qualifications open universities in the region for the mobility of students and professors allow greater mobility – establish a network of Balkan universities, and links with the European Union through connecting the EHEA, the ERA and similar networks Strengthening of Internationalisation in B&H Higher Education

accept the unique regional norms and standards in higher education, but maintain the specificity of local, cultural and social matrix, making mobility acceptable to all universities in the region harmonization of the criteria of studies and the level of acquired knowledge and skills in order to achieve transparency of certificates and to remove obstacles at the level of education, and achieve a greater mobility of teaching staff and students in the framework of broader integration supporting the internationalization through projects close cooperation with other ministries in neighboring countries, Europe and the world. University of Sarajevo -103 TEMPUS projects in cooperation with 135 European universities (83 as a partner, 16 as academic coordinator and 4 as grantholder), -38 FP7 projects -19 Erasmus Mundus projects in cooperation with 55 EU universities -signed 110 international agreements on cooperation, -new Erasmus + program, out of 8 projects for BH, UNSA participates in 6, -more than 30 institutional agreements for student and teacher mobility -partner in 32 CEEPUS networks Strengthening of Internationalisation in B&H Higher Education

University of Tuzla approx. 60 agreements signed with universities from around the world currently involved in 3 Tempus 3 and 2 Erasmus+projects and 6 other international projects Summer University - a traditional form of international cooperation Strengthening of Internationalisation in B&H Higher Education

University of Mostar Erasmus Mundus Program – students in universities in five countries and scientific and teaching staff four countries, Erasmus + - students and scientific-teaching and administrative staff can study in seven countries Member of CEEPUS networks and other major European and regional university associations and academic networks contracts for the interuniversity cooperation with public universities in Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Italy actively involved in 8 Tempus projects partner 2 new Erasmus + K2 project. University of Zenica exchange through Erasmus Mundus, CEEPUS, Mevlana programs, and bilateral protocols signed with universities in Europe and the world, programs of cooperation with the German government agency DAAD, participates as a partner in 7 Tempus projects. Džemal Bijedić University of Mostar active member of six networks, as well as four networks in the Erasmus Mundus Action 2 as six networks in the framework of the Erasmus + program KA 1 signed protocols for Mevlana exchange program with 7 HEIs in Turkey member of 1 CEEPUS network signed protocols on collaboration with 35 universities and associations from 18 countries has developed cooperation and communication with federal ministries, embassies of 12 countries currently participates in 3 Tempus projects, 3 capacity building projects in the framework of the Erasmus + program, 4 projects within the Basileus -Erasmus Mundus Action 2 Strengthening of Internationalisation in B&H Higher Education

University of Bihać -more than 40 agreements on inter-university cooperation with universities and institutes in the Balkan region, Europe, Asia, South America -partner in 2Erasmus + projects, -signed eight inter-university agreements within the Erasmus + program, KA 1 -currently negotiating on signing additional agreements, -involved in 3 Tempus projects and 1 Erasmus program of LLL. EUA Trends 2015 Learning and Teaching in European Universities: Universities in the next decade (Part V) Maintaining the momentum: the importance of learning and teaching Development and implementation of effective internationalisation strategies are of strong interest to universities. It requires them to consider the benefits, consequences and risks of different approaches, including the costs involved and sustainability prospects and to reflect on the proper balance between cooperation and competition with other universities. The positive and negative impacts of specific national strategies for internationalisation of higher education also need to be taken into consideration, particularly when these are defined narrowly as national instruments of economic competitiveness or political diplomacy.
