He was born in Geneva (Switzerland) in 1712 Her mother died within a week of his birth His father was exilied He escaped to France with 16 years He met a lot of philosophers, he studied and he won a lot of prizes. He also published some books He died in Ermenonville (France) in 1778 (the cause was a cardiac problem)

- The social contract (we explain it then) - Émile (social inequality) - La nouvelle Héloïse - Letter to D’Alambert about shows - Discourse about the origin of inequality among men - Confessions (two books of an autobiography)

He says that Social Contract wasn’t a moment in history when people make a deal with each other; it means that it could be considered the origin of the association

It search the common good for everybody. For instance: if people decide to built a new road but I don’t want because for that my house will be destroyed, however, it’s good for the majority of the people so I must wish this
