Overview o Focus: knowledge exchange on methods and best practices for OI applied in inter-firm and university-industry settings o Connect with other participants, non participating organisations across Europe o Link results with background knowledge, experience and expertise on OI in HE o Broad EU platform & integrate OI in HE and HEIs 3

Key objectives o Identify key stakeholders o Develop a community for knowledge sharing o Collect data on methods and best practices for OI o Ensure the sustainability of the community, involving academia, research organisations, private sector, professional associations and policy making bodies 4

Tasks and deliverables o T1 – Data collection on OI methods and practices  Dedicated survey to be designed on « why, how and with what impact » (survey template – ongoing collection instrument)  Analyse similarities and dissimilarities across OI cases (report and paper)  Develop presentations of the cases (training material) 5

T1 - How o Identify cases -> go beyond the usual suspects  Gather information for existing research/writing cases from Partners  Identify new cases (successes and failures) Inbound (mainly) : CIS -> ID = FIRM -> need cooperation with national statistical office Oubound: patents DB, licensing deals  Survey instruments (for online collection / for interviews) 6

T2 – IPR in OI for HE and OI Platform o IPR monitoring in HE and Plaftorm o Report on operational and digital right management issues related to OI platform o How to handle the cases posted on OI Platform o Review of legal mechanisms implemented in OI contexts based on cases (D3.1) -> presentations and short reports as teaching material 7

T3 – Context for community building o OI platform specification- Online collaborative space for permanent knowledge sharing o a support tool for CoP building and ensuring sustainability (links with WP7 and WP8) o Outcomes :  Technical manual for the use of communication tool  Online survey on the desirable content  Summary of survey results 8

T4 – OI platform foundations o Input = survey results o What teaching material is needed, incl. information packages in methods, theories, cases + areas for brainstorming o Advice on course structure planning, information on relevant source of data (statistical), books reviews, sample exam questions,… 9

T5 – Context for Journal o Building the case for dedicated journal of OI, multidisciplinary perspective, establishing OI as a discipline o Deliverables  Report (why, needs, requirements)  Provisional list of editorial board members and scientific panels  Preliminary contact with publisher 10

T5 – Context for Journal T5 – Context for Journal o Progress and slight shift :  Build upon existing journal to create a series of SI with dedicated scientific members and selected partners as guest editors, in compliance with Journal’s rules  Support in terms of dissemination from WP7 leader for these SI 11
