Time Management And Work Load Management Presented By :

What is Time Management? Time management is a fairly straightforward concept. It's the process of arranging and controlling how you spend your time in or out of work. “Time management is a set of principles, skills, tools, and systems that work together to help you get more value out of your time with the aim of improving the quality of your life”.

Importance of Time Management Time management is important for your personal life and career success. It teaches you how to manage your time effectively and make the most of it. Here are a few of the reasons why it is so important, and how it can help you use and manage your time more advantageously: 1.Time is a special resource that you cannot store or save for later use. Everyone has the exact same amount of time each day. Time not well used cannot be retrieved. 2.Time management will help you set up your priorities. 3.Time is limited to 24 hours a day, so plan your life wisely. 4.Time management helps you make conscious choices, so you can spend more of your time doing things that are important and valuable to you.

Cont.…. 5. When you control your time and work more efficiently, you're able to learn more and increase your experience faster. 6. We all need some free time to relax and unwind but, unfortunately, many of us don't get much free time because we're too busy trying to keep up with our daily activities and work load. By implementing time management skills, you are able to get more done in a shorter period of time leading to more free time.

Time Management skills Time management is often thought of or presented as a set of skills; the theory is that once we master the skills, we'll be more organized, efficient, and happier. Why use time management skills? It's important that you develop effective strategies for managing your time to balance the conflicting demands of time for study, leisure, earning money and job hunting. Time management skills are valuable in job hunting, but also in many other aspects of life: from revising for examinations to working in a vacation job.

What skills are required for effective time management? Some of these skills including setting clear goals, breaking your goals down into discreet steps, and reviewing your progress towards your goals are covered in Action Planning. Other skills involved include prioritizing focusing on urgent and important tasks rather than those that are not important or don't move you towards your goals organizing your work schedule; list making to remind you of what you need to do when persevering when things are not working out and avoiding procrastination.

Goal Setting Definition: Goal setting is the process of deciding what you want to accomplish and devising a plan to achieve the result you desire. How do you set goals? Learn how to set goals that you can will actually achieve with these goals setting tips. 1)Choose goals that are worthwhile. 2) Choose goals that are achievable stretches. 3) Make your goals specific. 4) Prioritize your goals.

6 Tips to improve your time management skills When you learn and maintain good time management skills, you’ll find freedom from deadline pressure and from stress in general. You’ll be more productive, procrastinate less, and have more time to relax, which helps further decrease stress and anxiety. Time management skills are like shoes or a good pair of jeans — you may have to try several pair before you find just the right fit. They’re different for each person and you have to find what works best for you. Below are a few that work for me which you may want to borrow. 1.Make a list 2.Set deadlines 3.Stop multi-tasking 4.Delegate responsibilities 5.Use your downtime 6.Reward yo urself

Action planning planning is a process which will help you to ideas and to decide what steps you need to take to achieve focus particular goals that you may have. It is a statement of what you want to achieve over a given period of time. Preparing an action plan is a good way to help you to reach your objectives in life: don't worry about the future, start planning for it! It involves: 1. Identifying your objectives 2. Setting objectives which are achievable & measurable. 3. Prioritizing your tasks effectively. 4. Identifying the steps needed to achieve your goals. 5. Using lists. 6. Being able to work effectively under pressure 7. Completing work to a deadline. 8.Having a contingency plan

Priorities Making Best Use of Your Time and Resources Prioritization is the essential skill that you need to make the very best use of your own efforts and those of your team. It's also a skill that you need to create calmness and space in your life so that you can focus your energy and attention on the things that really matter. Efficiency and effectiveness are not the same. Someone who works hard and is well organized but spends all their time on unimportant tasks may be efficient but not effective. To be effective, you need to decide what tasks are urgent and important and to focus on these. This is called prioritizing.

WORKLOAD MANAGEMENT

Definition “Managing workload in the workplace means an environment where tasks and responsibilities can be accomplished successfully within the time available.” (Guarding Work)
