Our Targets There are a variety of targets we have been working towards… The national target is to reduce the number of Child KSIs by 50% KSIs by 40% Slight Injuries by 10% from the average by 2010 Stretch Target 20% on top of national LAA target 7% reduction in KSis

The Scale of the Problem “I am writing to you as the Road Safety Minister to highlight the importance the Coalition attaches to road safety, to recognise the importance of local action… Road casualties have huge economic and human costs. Fatalities Most importantly around 6 people are killed each year. (£1.68million each)

AIU – Safer Routes to School Not casualty lead Provides improved facilities for pedestrians and cyclists Implements ten 20mph limits around schools each year Links to Building Schools for the Future Works closely with the School Travel Planners and Road Safety Education Works closely with Sustrans and has been awarded several of the the Links to School grants (£300,000) Providing a new Toucan crossings and cycling facilities near Firbeck Primary, Hempshill Primary and Bulwell Academy Unsuccessful proposals for the Nottingham Academny and Bigwood School are also being implemented with Developer and LTP funds
