Casa Argentina Una Noche Para El Recuerdo Sunday, May 20th, 2007 Performing Arts Center UNO Lakefront Campus University of New Orleans and 7:00 pm present

About the artists Casa Argentina and the University of New Orleans (UNO ) have the honor to present the renowned Argentine vocal group OPUS 4. Members of the group are: Alberto Hassan, first tenor; Marcelo Balsells, second tenor; Hernando Iraola, baritone and Federico Galiana, bass. OPUS 4 has received great recognition in many countries throughout the world. The singers visited the United States seven times between 1990 and 2005, performing in several cities including New Orleans. The concert at UNO is part of the 2007 international tour. Since its creation in 1968, the group's repertoire has concentrated on the performance of popular music and music rooted in the folk traditions of Argentina and Latin America, as well as spirituals, jazz, and musicals, singing either a capella or accompanied by choruses or symphony orchestras. In 2002, OPUS 4 received the "Carlos Gardel Music Award" for its recording "Tangos, Valses y Milongas". Other awards were the "Estrella de Mar" in 1993 ( for recognition of its artistry); the "Homero Manzi" in 1995; and a nomination in 1994 for the A.C.E. award for the best production of "Opus Cuatro-Jazz. About Casa Argentina Casa Argentina is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserve the Argentinean culture in New Orleans and the surrounding areas. The association sponsors various cultural, social and charitable activities throughout the year.
