HTA Year 9 Options 2015/16 YEAR 9 OPTIONS ASSEMBLY

How many subjects will I be doing in Years 10 and 11? Most students will be following eight different courses and will be prepared for 9 GCSEs 6 subjects from the core 3 subjects from the options

Which subjects will I have to study? The Core subjects are: English Mathematics Science Religious Studies PE 2 GCSEs Language & Literature 1 GCSE 2 GCSEs 1 GCSE Non-Exam

You will also need to study at least one of the following; History Geography French Triple science Computer science

What are the subjects I can opt to do? Art Business Studies Dance French Geography Media History Music PE Product Design Triple Science

How do I decide which subjects to choose? Listen to the information given out this morning and ask questions. Think about how you are getting on in your subjects at present and think about what you might like to do after Year 11

Be careful... Do not be swayed by what your friends are doing How you get on with a particular teacher should not come into it - you should be mature enough now to get on with the job of learning whoever the teacher is

Am I guaranteed all of my choices? Unfortunately not, but every effort will be made to ensure that as many students as possible will get what they want. Some courses may not run.

What do I need to do next? Take the option blocks home Talk with your parents and teachers Attend the curriculum information evening on May 5 th Use the Kudos website and other resources to find out what qualifications you may need Don’t worry

Can I change my mind? Yes - but… Please think long and hard about your choices Mid September will be the final deadline for changes. Not all changes can be guaranteed. Make sure that you are changing for the right reasons
