2 RATIONALE BEHIND THE MODEL 1.Curriculum design that ‘guides’ all students towards at least 1 subject in the Ebacc suite - a group of ‘high value’ qualifications that are highly rated by Sixth Forms, employers and Universities. 2. The model allows students to follow a highly academic pathway or compliment their Ebacc choice with more practical subjects. 3. Progress 8 and the end of A* to G grades. 4. An increased number of lessons in English, Maths and Science to ensure that students are prepared for GCSE’s that have grown in content. 5.‘Fat Maths’, English Literature, Double/Triple Science

5 Choices (plus a reserve) Guided Ebacc Option: 1 of: Geography History Spanish Computer Science

6 Options 2, 3 and 4 3 from the following list plus a reserve. Don’t choose the same as Option 1!! Geography, History, Spanish, Computer Science, Art, Music, Drama, Resistant Materials, Graphics, Textiles, Food Technology, PE, RE, Business Studies, Health and Social Care, ICT, Dance, Sociology/Psychology

7 Which Options should you choose?  Career aspirations: Sixth Form?, University?, Apprenticeship?  Do you stick with your pre-options from this year or try something new?  Academic, Practical or a mixture of the two?  Take up Spanish again from Year 8?  Which subjects do you enjoy?  Which subjects are you doing well in?
