Regional Coordinating Hospital Response to NDMS Activation at Dobbins Air Reserve Base

Regional Coordinating Hospital (RCH) A brief history: Grady Health System is one of 12 hospitals in the state of Georgia that has been designated by the Georgia Hospital Association (GHA) to assist either an affected hospital, public health or an emergency management agency.

Regional Coordinating Hospital (RCH) (continued) “The RCH coordinates the patient transfers and other essential services during an event which causes the county emergency operations plan to be activated, and serves as a facilitator and advocate of the effected organization related to its needs during the time of an emergency.”

Locations of the RCHs Grady Health System is the RCH for Region “D” in Georgia. [Note that the region “B”was merged into Region “E”.]

Notification  Public Health or Area Emergency Manager VISN 7 notifies the RCH along with other responding agencies  The RCH responds to the site:  Coordinates of the placement of patients with the participating hospitals  Work with the EMS coordinator, Marty Billings, and Chuck Baird’s Cobb Fire and Rescue EMS coordinator to transfer the evacuated hospital patients to our own local hospitals
