ECONOMIC Providing for the family FINANCIALLY. Helping with the production, consumption, and distribution of goods and services Example: paying for groceries, saving money for the family.

AFFECTION Through nurturance and love. All of the ways you show your family you care. Example: Hugs, notes.

EDUCATION Teaching something. Primarily through socialization of children for adult roles. Social control of children – discipline Example: Enrolling kids in school, teaching through discipline.

PROTECTION Physical maintenance and care of family members Ensuring the family is SAFE. Example: installing alarms.
