Unit 1 Section A: “An Inspector Calls” You have studied “An Inspector Calls” by J.B. Priestly. There will be a choice of two questions on this text in the exam paper. You need to answer one question, spending 45 minutes on this section. Your answer will be assessed for AO1 (interpretation of writer’s ideas) and AO2 (analysis) of language, structure and form.

Focus on the exam question – highlight the theme and key words. Support your interpretation with analysis of the writer’s use of language/structure/form to present ideas and the effect on the reader. PEA (point, evidence, analyse, evaluate) Comment on writer’s intentions. Unit 1 Section A: “An Inspector Calls”
