1 P.A.W. Junior Supplement Power of Prayer Spring 2016 March 6, 2016 This lesson is about the power of prayer. Prayer is a form of serving God and obeying Him Luke 2:36-38 We pray because God commands us to pray Philippians 4:6-7 Prayer is exemplified for us by Christ and the early church Mark 1:35; Acts 1:14; 2:42; 3:1; 4:23-31; 6:4; 13:1-3 If Jesus thought it was worthwhile to pray, we should also. The challenge this week is to pray and as you pray for this month. Here are some scriptures to encourage you: "Pray for those who persecute you" –Matthew 5:44 (NIV) "And when you pray …" –Matthew 6:5 "This, then, is how you should pray …" –Matthew 6:9 "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." –Romans 12:12 "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests." –Ephesians 6:18 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." –Philippians 4:6 "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful." –Colossians 4:2 "Pray continually" -1 Thessalonians 5:17

Your focus must be on the presence of God and His will for your life. The scriptures are clear you need to diligently seek Him. Ask them too write down what they think the person should say when they apologize. Give them an opportunity to discuss their apology notes. 1.Was it easy to write the apology? If it was not why, if it was why? 2.Do you think it would have been easy to write the apology if you were the one who had to apologize to someone. 3.Give your students the opportunity to explain how they can be more forgiving. 4.Ask them is there someone they need to apologize to? If the answer is yes, take a moment and write out that apology to that person you wronged.

12 P.A.W. Junior Supplement Humble Yourself Spring 2016 May 15, 2016 What does it mean to be humble? Humble total self denial and being a slave for God’s will. Jesus put on human flesh, humbled Himself to the will of God and in the end He die for our sins. To be humble we have to follow the will of God not the will of our flesh. Talk about, read and feel how Jesus showed his humility. Talk about or See: You can show or have a discussion about the crucifixion of Jesus being beaten and hung to die for our sins. READ: Matthew 12: 19-20, 20:28; John 5: Feel: Tell me what you think it was like to be humble unto the cross for sins you did not commit. 13 P.A.W. Junior Supplement Doubt Spring 2016 March 22, 2016 The enemy has several tricks he likes to use to prevent you from activating your confidence and faith in God. Doubt – Makes you questions God’s word and his goodness Discouragement – Makes you look at yourself what wrong with me, I have problems, but we should be focused on God. Our ever desire should be his (God’s) will for our life. Diversion – makes wrong things seem more pleasurable than doing the right thing Defeat – You are already beaten so, why put forth the energy there is no way you can come back from this one. Delay – Procrastination, so you never get anything done To combat this trick here are some scriptures to help you be confident. Confident Philippians 1:5Philippians 4:13 Hebrews 4:16 Deuteronomy 31:6Proverbs 3:26John 1:12 Romans 8:28Isaiah 30:15Ephesians 2:6 Acts 1:8Joshua1:9Isaiah 41:10 Psalm 27:1Psalm 55:22Matthew 11:28
