2 What Is Prayer  A Spiritual Blessing  Ephesians 1:3  1 Timothy 2:1; Hebrews 5:7; Romans 10:1  For whom or what should we pray?  1 Timothy 2:1-4  That which is appropriate

3 Implications of belief in prayer  Personality of God  Not an unknown force, but is intelligent, powerful, loving & understanding  Nearness & concern of God  Acts 17:27-29  Power of God  Believe He can & will answer prayer  James 5:16-18  No complete predestination of events

4 Conditions of Acceptable Prayer  Must be righteous  James 5:16  1 Peter 3:12  Pray in faith  James 1:5-7  Pray according to His will  1 John 5:14; Matthew 26:39  Don’t ask God to accept things already done  Can’t pray for salvation contrary to His will

5 Conditions of Acceptable Prayer  Pray in the name of Christ  Colossians 3:17  Not just “saying the words”  Must be forgiving  Mark 11:25  Be unselfish & sincere  James 4:3  Matthew 6:5,6

6 What Must I Do To Be Saved?  Hear the gospel (Romans 10:17)  Believe Jesus is Christ (Acts 8:37)  Repent of your sins (Acts 17:30)  Confess your faith (Matthew 10:32)  Baptized for remission of sins (Acts 2:38)  Be faithful unto death (Revelation 2:10)
