 We have activities on the Stationery and Office supply market under the Brands CLASSIC and Mercurius  And on the market of Merchandizing and Promotional Gifts under the brand Reklamni.bg

Our environmental initiatives help us operate our business in a more sustainable manner, from product sourcing to our internal operations to the education we offer our customers. As associate of Staples, Inc. Mercurius focuses on three major cornerstones that we believe are critical to achieving this goal:  Environmentally preferable products  Energy and climate  Environmental education

 According to the statistics Bulgarian offices use about tons of cut size paper each year.  The production of this volume requires app big trees.  The dead trees are only 50% of our footprint on the nature(the rest is a lot of energy for production, transportation etc.)  Currently we were offering more than 100 eco–preferable products.  We seek to develop or source new products that incorporate other environmental attributes beyond recycled content, including products using eco–friendly or recycled raw materials

Our efforts to reduce the environmental impacts of our sourcing include:  Paper products certified by the Forest Stewardship Council to come from responsibly managed forests  Binders and organizers containing post–consumer recycled content plastic and paper  Nontoxic and bio–based cleaning products.  ENERGY STAR® certified energy–efficient office productsENERGY STAR®

 Mercurius is reducing the energy consumption through the use of energy efficient technologies and implementing various e-office policies  Using only ENERGY STAR® certified energy–efficient office equipment and energy saving lightsENERGY STAR®  Using recycled paper in the intercompany communication  Introducing e-invoicing in the second half of 2009  Increasing the utilization by the delivery operations

 In average 3% of the price is directly related to the transportation  Mercurius used in 2008 the equivalent of more than 328 tons of fuel  If the customers plan their consumption and we deliver twice in a month instead of the average four we could eventually decrease the fossil fuel consumption by 30%.  To achieve this we always negotiate price advantage for the companies capable to plan

 We are committed to helping our customers run their businesses and live in a more sustainable manner.  Whether purchasing environmentally preferable products, or providing them with useful environmental information, we strive to increase environmental awareness of our customers.  Presentations like this are part of our commitment

 Increasing the average amount of post–consumer recycled content across all of our paper by weight to 10% by 2010  Offering only copy paper brands certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.  Requiring vendors bidding to supply large–volume paper products to complete an environmental survey to help us select responsible paper suppliers.  Certification under ISO 14001: Environmental management systems
