Research and Bibliography Steps 1. Choose your topic 2. Look for sources 3. Read your sources 4. Take notes 5. Organize 6. Write the first draft 7. Revise and write final draft 8. Write the bibliography (a.k.a works cited) Requirements 1. Two pages 2. Typed 3. Times New Roman point font 5. Double Spaced 6. Five sources of varying types.

Choose your topic What are you researching? What information do you need find out? What will you type into Google?

Look for sources/Read your sources/Take notes An internet source is reliable if it has the following information: author, title of the web page, date it was last reviewed or updated. Please make sure to get the above information for every website source. Do not use wikipedia

Look for sources/Read your sources/Take notes Need at least five sources of varying types. Types of sources: newspaper, books, encyclopedia, magazines, internet, interviews. If a source is a book, you need the following information: author(s), title, place of publication, publisher, copyright dates. Take notes from your sources, paraphrase. DO NOT plagiarize.

Organize/Write first draft/Revise/Write final draft Organize your notes into an outline so that you know the order that your paper will follow. Write your first draft. Revise: check for spelling and grammatical errors. Write your final draft.

Bibliography/Works Cited Should be alphabetical, by authors last name. Use to help you. You may also use the “Works Cited-Quick Reference-MLA Format” handout to help you. Remember: at least five sources of varying types.
