Animal Cell

Hello! I’m a cell Here on the right you can see my section I’m very important for your body and now I tell you why

CELLTISSUE ORGAN SYSTEM ORGANISM Cells are joined together to form a tissue Tissues are joined together to make an organ Organs are joined together to form an organ system Organ systems combine together to form a body Look! Your body is made up of cells

My parts are called ORGANELLES Organelles are subunits of the cell with a specific function

I have an external MEMBRANE External membrane. It has two important functions: it gives me a shape it controls movement of material in and out of me

My internal substance is CYTOPLASM cytoplasm Cytoplasm is like a gel All organelles float in cytoplasm

I have a control centre called _________NUCLEUS It’s my control centre. It has two important functions: 1.It stores the cell hereditary material 2.It coordinates the cell activities

Inside my nucleus I have ________CHROMOSOMES Chromosomes carry genes which are responsible for hereditary characters

Another important organelle is ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM Endoplasmic reticulum is like a highway for the transport of material inside the cell.

MITOCHONDRIA is my powerhouse Here digested food reacts with oxygen to make energy for me.

I also have the GOLGI APPARATUS It takes the proteins and lipids and makes them better to release them into the cell.
