Chronological Resumes List jobs in reverse chronological order- most recent jobs first. Organization, location, title, dates Brief description of job responsibilities Use action verbs and sentence fragments Pay attention to verb use Stress what is relevant to the job objective

Resume Reminders Omit all personal pronouns (I, Me) Avoid wordiness Provide positive information Quantify and qualify when possible Prioritize information from most important to least important

Resume Reminders Plenty of white space so resume doesn’t look crammed-use 11 to 12 pt. font Use resume paper: white; off-white; or ivory Don’t include personal information, salary requirements, or geographic preferences

Resume Reminders Emphasize important items: CAPITALIZE, bold, underline, Italicize to highlight items, but do not over use!!!!!! Proofread the resume TWICE! Use word processor and laser printer
