Mesopotamia By a Caleb Bernard

Sumerian Empire Built first dams or dikes made out of earth. They were the first to use wheeled carts to carry crops. They created the worlds first known bureaucracy. Became the worlds first written language.

Akkadian Empire The ruler of Akkadian was Sargon. Sargon ruled for 56 years. After his death the empire lasted for another 200 years Leaders in the Sumerian city state of Ur rebelled against Akkadian rule.

Babylonian Empire They made taxation. They had the code of Hammurabi. The code of Hammurabi was a set of laws written down in a clear and orderly way Hammurabi based his laws from older collections from the Sumerian and Akkadian laws.

Kassites and Hittites KASSITES TRIED MANY YEARS TO TAKE OVER BABYLON BUT FAILE. AFTER THE HITTITES ROBBED ALL OF BABTLON KASSITES TOKE OVER. HITTITES HAD CHARIOTS. ATTACKED BABYLON AND WON BUT DID NOT STAY.

Assyrian Empire Used same battle strategy as Hittites. First to make and use the lance. Also introduced the battering ram. Was the largest standing army Mesopotamia ever seen.

Neo Babylonian Empire Free from the Assyrians Babylonian become center of civilization. Nebuchadnezzar was one of the kings he ruled for 44 years. He built a ziggurat is now as the tower of Babel. He also built the Hanging Gardens.

What I learned I learned that the Hittites built chariots. That the Hittites toke over Babylon and the Kassites toke over. The Sumerian were first to make dams or dikes
