Weekly News Aug , 2015 Notes From the Teacher: Don’t Forget! Using materials found at home, create a 3-D model of an Ancient Greek temple or building. Instructions should be in your child’s binder. Have fun and be creative! These models are due on Monday, August 24! August 17: Picture Day August 31: PTSO membership due September 7: Labor Day Holiday Volunteers and Lunch Visitors after this date. September 30: Early Release Day Tinney Specials: M:Art T: PE W: Computer Lab Th: PEF: Music News: Dates for Your Calendar: Starting on Monday, August 17 th, Students that are dropped off at the school between 7:05 and 7:30 will be sent to a holding location. At 7:30, the students will be released to their classrooms. The students should report to the following locations: Grades Pre-K-1 st : Cafeteria Grades 2 nd -5 th : Gym PTSO Membership Drive: ​ Membership dues are $5.00 per family. Please make checks payable to MES PTSO. -The class with the most participation by August 31st will win an ice-cream party! We are entering week 3 of 3 rd grade! Several students have brought in dividers. There is so much to learn in 3 rd grade! So, it is probably a good idea to place dividers in your child’s binder to start organizing all of their resources. Thank you!

City-State: a capital consisting of a city and its surrounding territory. Coliseum: a large amphitheater for public sports events, entertainment, or assemblies. Representative Democracy: a government in which the people elect officials to represent them.
