Hello! Welcome to 6 th grade math!

Pencils You need to bring pencils to class. Pencils need to be sharpened before class starts. Pencil sharpening should not interrupt teaching and discussion. You NEED to use a pencil in math or your work will not be accepted!

POD’ s You will get a print out every Monday On Monday’s we will go over all of the problems and you will write down notes on the problems. Tuesday – Friday you will use your notes to do the POD correctly. These will get turned in everyday and returned the next day. When you come into class, you will get your POD and start working.

SLM’s Keep your SLM in your binder This will be a resource to study with This should match the SLM in the classroom

Notes You will take notes, practice or do an activity everyday The packet will help you study In order to succeed you need to be engaged and participate in class

Homewo rk You will have some homework every day, It will be checked everyday and sometimes it will be randomly collected It will be material we have already worked on In the middle and at the end of the marking period your overall score will be tallied.

Absent When you get back you need to check the absent box and get/do the assignments and turn them in. If you have any questions about missed work please ask me at the end of class or at lunch. When you are absent it is YOUR responsibility to get and do the work.

Quizzes/Tests After getting a quiz back you may do quiz corrections When you do quiz corrections you can earn half of the points you lost back. For example if you got a 60%, it means that you lost 40%, you may earn back 20% to get you and 80% You many not do corrections on tests, you also will not be able to bring home the test, only your score. If you do not finish a quiz or test you will have extra time during lunch, you will be allowed 2 lunch periods to finish.
