INTERNET INTERNET - short term for interconnected networks, is a global network of computers tied together to share information and other resources. Also called as the net, the web, the cyberspace or the information highway.

Internet Roots U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency - linked four computers using telephone wires and call it DARPANET (and soon called ARPANET).
