TYPES OF SELF-CATERING ACCOMMODATION  COTTAGE, CHALET, CABIN  It is a small house in a village or the countryside  It is a small house in an area of forest or mountains. They are usually rustic and timber, made of food, set in a secluded mountain setting  It is a type of house with a steeply sloping roof, common in places with high mountains and snow. The term is also used for a small house in a holiday camp/park.

 T______-SHARE  It is a particular type of self- catering accommodation involving the purchase of time, usually in blocks of weeks, in a holiday property (self- catering villas, cottages and log cabins, apartments in seaside resort and city centre).You buy a flat or a house with other people so that you can each use it for a particular amount of time every year

 C__________ and C________ site  Visitors bring their own accommodation to the destination in the form of tents, caravans and trailers. These sites may be basic fields with few basic utilities provided or sphisticated resort locations including a range of services.Some of these sites offer permanently sited tents or caravans. It is a good value self-catering accommodation  Target market: families and youth

 C_________ ACCOMMODATION  It means spending your holiday in student accommodation during the vacation when students are not there (it can be serviced or self-catering)

They usually offer bed & breakfast and are not licensed to serve alcohol.  They provide room for the night and a meal the next morning.  Guests are offered room for several night, they eat food grown on the farm and participate in various agricultural working tasks.

 MOTEL, YOUTH HOSTEL  It is a cheap place where travellers, usually young people can stay for a short period of time there. Accommodation is in comfortable bunk-bedded dorm rooms, sharing with people, this can vary from 4 bed dorm to 16. A private room can also be booked.There are also self-catering kitchens there.  It is an establishment which provides lodging and parking and in which the rooms are usually accessible from an outdoor parking area.

 ___________?  The core activities are to provide accommodation, food and drink to guests. Many also provide leisure facilities, conference and banqueting services, and business facilities.  A budget type offers “no-frills” service for a fixed low price.

CLASIFICATION OF ROOMS According to the number of rooms: 1 A room with a single bed – sold only to one person 2 A room with two single beds 3 A room occupied by two persons with one double bed 4 A room that can accommodate three people either in one double bed and one roll away bed or two single beds and one roll away bed 5 A room that can be occupied by four people (2 twin or 2 double beds) 6 A room with at least one double bed and one or more single beds to accommodate one small family a) DOUBLE BED b) SINGLE ROOM c) FAMILY ROOM d) QUADRUPLE BED e) TWIN ROOM f) TRIPLE ROOM

CLASIFICATION OF ROOMS According to price, layout and facilities 1 A room for an economical rate, usually short of standard facilities like air conitioning, television, etc. 2 A room with a living room connected to one or more full sized bedrooms, equipped with luxury amenities. 3 Rooms located side by side that do not necessarily have a connecting door 4 A room with a bathroom 5 A suite located on top floor of the property a) PENTHOUSE b) EN SUITE BEDROOM c) SUITE d) ECONOMY ROOM e) ADJACENT OR ADJOINING ROOM

CLASIFICATION OF ROOMS According to price, layout and facilities 1 A room with a studio bed which can be converted into a bed. It may also be called an executive room. 2 A more luxurious and spacious room with amenities of superior quality (more expensive than standard) 3 Does not have a private bathroom but guests have to share one with other guests 4 Two or more rooms with entrance doors from the outside door between them through which guests can get through each bedroom without going out of their rooms 5 A room sold at moderate rate, equipped with standard facilities and amenities like air conditioning, toiletries, TV, bed and night table 6 It is designed for a top executive, with facilities and amenities of superior quality a) CONNECTING ROOM b) ROOM WITH SHARED BATHROOM c) STUDIO ROOM d) DELUXE ROOM e) STANDARD ROOM f) EXECUTIVE SUITE
