History of Australia As a country they are only over 200 years old compared to Colombia's culture which is thousands of years old and has many influences.

Australia Day! This day is the 26 th of January when Britain ships arrived to the island. It is celebrated by having a paid day of work and large fireworks display in Sydney Harbour. Most people, like they do at Christmas have a BBQ or party, drink lots and traditionally, lamb is eaten.

What things should you see in Australia ? One thing you should do when you go to Australia is go to the beach! They have some of the best beaches on the World! For example:

Gold Coast Gold Coast is a city and coastal region about 70 kilometers south of Brisbane, in the state of Queensland. Gold Coast currently is the seventh largest city in Australia and the most visited tourist destination in Australia.

Palm Beach Sidney This beach has "Reddish Arenas”. And the best time to go is all year.  You can also see the Sydney Opera House

Sunshine Coast There are crystalline beaches, freshwater rivers and lakes, subtropical forests and warm sun. People also practice surfing here.

Football stadium At the “Gabba” or “Melbourne Cricket Ground”, you can enjoy the best football match. Their soccer team has the nickname “socceroos” and here “La naranja mecanica”.

Fauna of Australia Australian wildlife groups a huge variety of unique animals: 83% of mammals, 89% of reptiles, 90% of fish and insects and 93% of amphibians that inhabit the continent are endemic to the country. This high level of endemism can be attributed to the isolation of the continent, tectonic stability and the effect of unusual patterns of climate change, which also affect soil and flora over geological time plates.

Culture As a country, Australia doesn't have a lot of culture. They do like their sports and sports men and women who excel can be very rich and incredibly popular.

Special celebrations ANZAC Day (ANZAC stands for Australian New Zealand Army Corps) is celebrated on April 25 each year. This is the day that Australian and New Zealand Armed Forces landed at Gallipoli in World War I.

It is a day to remember those men and women that served their country in times of war and especially those that gave their life.

It always starts with a memorial dawn service, followed by a parade where millions of people will line the streets of large cities to cheer and watch veterans and soldiers march past.
