Below are some examples of the competencies candidates need to demonstrate in our selection and interview process. Communication Expressive, clear and concise and have the ability to quickly form relationships with others in a variety of situations. Achievement of goals Show the persistence and energy required to meet or exceed objectives and well-defined goals and respond well to pressure. Commercial awareness Have an interest in business and the knowledge of what a career in a professional services firm involves, particularly in your chosen field. Adaptability Are positive in the face of change and resourceful in responding to major changes. Problem solving Can analyse, distil and solve practical problems, generate new ideas and make sound judgements in complex situations. Have been successful at motivating others towards a particular course of action. Organisational skills Take responsibility for the completion of tasks and ensure that detail is not overlooked when involved in a project. Will have good time management skills and will be able to prioritise tasks effectively.

Additionally open questions are asked in order to obtain information about applicants’ experiences and achievements in more detail. Career aspirations and research of our business is essential to qualify for the next stage Psychometric tests online Numerical and verbal tests help to sift out students that will struggle through professional exams Interview Competency based interviews are held with a Manager of the service line applied to Final Assessment Day We look for demonstrable evidence of competencies discussed in first interview and a Partner of the firm will hold the second interview and make the final decision based on all of the evidence collated throughout the process. Activities in FADs are service line specific.
